PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A Southeast Portland middle school was closed Thursday after a bomb threat was discovered in one of the school’s bathrooms the day before.

The closure of Floyd Light Middle School was prompted after a custodian found the threat in the form of graffiti during their end-of-day cleaning shift, according to David Douglas district officials.

They add that the closure will cancel 5th grade music, as well as all scheduled after school activities and athletics.

The incident is currently under investigation and no further information has been released at this time.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the David Douglas Superintendent’s Office at (503) 261-8201.
