PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — After receiving numerous tips from the public, the Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division says it has identified a suspect in an elk poaching, which occurred in northeast Oregon during the Labor Day weekend.

According to investigators, a suspect shot a mature bull elk with archery equipment and was seen harvesting its meat. However, the person left the elk’s antlers and all of the meat behind when an Oregon State Trooper arrived at the scene.

“The subject did not return while troopers were on scene for several hours salvaging what they could of the meat,” the Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division said.

No arrests have been made at this time. OSP has not released the identity of the poaching suspect.

since when are Oregonians so anti hunting? if it was poached he should get whatever the law says. but are you all vegan? do you eat meat? it doesn't come from the grocery store. I think it's sinful to trophy hunt , if you kill it, eat it. my niece and her husband hunt to fill the freezer. they're not on welfare, don't get food stamps. you don't have to agree but you don't have to be so shitty.
