PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A man was hospitalized, then cited by police after crashing his Jeep into a power pole late Thursday night.

Just after 11 p.m., officers responded to reports of a crash near Northeast 102nd Avenue and Wygant Street.

On arrival, they found a Jeep was severely damaged on the passenger side after crashing into a power pole, officials said.

The power pole was also broken and officers found power lines draped over the Jeep, authorities said.

The driver, identified as 39-year-old Ja’Juan Legor Bennett, was trapped inside the vehicle until the power was turned off. He was then extricated from the Jeep by emergency crews and taken to a hospital.

At the hospital, officials said Legor Bennett was found in possession of a handgun. As a result, he was cited for felon in possession of a firearm and driving while suspended.

And as usual, they site a felon with a gun and driving with suspended. Let’s let him loose so he can get another Saturday night special and steal another car to hurt somebody. If he was in jail like he should have been then this would have never happened. Thank you multnomah county DA and you left leaning “Bleeding Heart” judges
