    Skyline tops Tipton, advances to Class 2 championship game

    COLUMBIA, Mo–The Show-Me Showdown is underway in Columbia at Mizzou arena.

    Over the next two weeks, six classes of boys and girls will crown basketball champions.

    And it started Wednesday with the Class 2 semifinals, and the Ozarks was well represented.

    Skyline faced the defending state champs Tipton in one semifinal.

    Skyline rode a 12 game winning streak into the action.

    And the Tigers would take the lead when Kenzi cheek splashes this corner three, and it’s 9-8 Skyline.

    Second quarter action, Ashlen Garrett running the floor and getting the hoop, it’s 15-8 Skyline.

    Garrett had a big second quarter, she hits this three pointer and it’s 18-13 Tigers.

    Skyline led at the half by two.

    But would build the lead in the second half, Garrett dishes to Shelby Redd who hits this three pointer, 38-27 Skyline.

    And Skyline beats Tipton 47-42, the Tigers will play for the state championship Thursday against Principia.
