    Hartville flys into Class 2 championship game

    COLUMBIA, Mo–The Show-Me Showdown is underway in Columbia at Mizzou Arena.

    This week it’s the smaller Class 1, 2 and 3 schools playing for high school basketball championships.

    Wednesday it was semifinals in Class 2.

    And the Hartville Eagles were looking for more hardware.

    Hartville won back to back state championships in 2020 and 2021.

    The Eagles finished fourth last season and faced South Pemiscot in the semifinals.

    And the Eagles were taking it inside all day, Grant Culver with the shot fake, then takes it to the rack, it’s 16-12 Hartville.

    Then the half court pass to Jaylon Cryer for the layup, it’s 20-14 Eagles.

    Hartville led by eight at the half.

    Third quarter, Peyton Cgdill, he drives the lane and gets the basket, it’s a ten point Eagles lead.

    Then the inbounds pass to Cogdill for the basket, and Hartville advances to the state championship game 44-27.

    The Eagles will play Weableau.
