    Power restored to 2,000 Springfield households

    UPDATE 6:00 P.M.: Power has been restored to all Springfield homes that reported an outage.

    UPDATE 12:49 P.M.: Fewer than 50 households in Springfield remain without power.

    Currently, the largest area experiencing an outage is just east of Kansas Expressway, with 27 customers still without power. According to City Utilities’ outage map, crews are currently working to get the lights back on. The map also shows power should be back on by 3:15 p.m.

    SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Nearly 2,000 Springfield households are without power this morning following heavy rain and some strong winds.

    The majority of affected customers are in northwest Springfield, with 1,761 reporting an outage. Smaller groups of outages are impacting some in eastern and southern parts of the city.
