    Belmont beats Bears, sends Guttin into retirement

    EVANSVILLE, Ind.–Legendary Missouri State baseball coach Keith Guttin’s coaching career finally reached the final out.

    Belmont beat the Bears in Wednesday afternoon’s elimination game at the Valley post season tournament 6-4.

    Guttin walked out of the dugout for the last time with 1,396 victories.

    Nick Rodriguez belted a two-run homer for Missouri State and Cody Kelly drove in two.

    But it wasn’t enough to beat Belmont, the Bruins win 6-4.

    Guttin retires and Missouri State will name a new coach in the next few weeks.
