Decomposing body found in Moccasin Creek

BAXTER COUNTY, Ark. — A body was found on the morning of Thursday, August 15 floating in Moccasin Creek.

According to a press release from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, around 8 a.m., a motorist driving on State Highway 5 discovered a body floating in the creek.

The body was identified as Rickey Joe Millsap, 50, of Mountain Home.

Millsap was identified on Friday, August 16 after a fingerprint scan. The next of kin has been notified.

The press release states the body would be sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office in Little Rock for an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of death.
