These are the best community colleges in Missouri and Arkansas: study

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Anyone looking to get their associate degrees in Missouri or Arkansas have solid options, according to a new study.

WalletHub looked at 653 schools that are part of the American Association of Community Colleges and ranked them based on three key factors: cost and financing, education outcomes and career outcomes.

Within those key factors were 18 metrics that were used to grade the schools and their numbers were weighted to create a composite score (out of 100).

Maryland had the best community colleges of any state with eight schools ranked in the top 50 nationwide, according to the study.

According to WalletHub, Missouri has the 29th-best community colleges in the country, but one of those community colleges is ranked as one of the best in the entire country.

State Technical College of Missouri in Linn, Missouri, ranks first among the 11 Missouri schools studied, but they also ranked second overall in the country with a score of 70.5 out of 100. They finished just behind Manhattan Area Technical College in Manhattan, Kansas – who finished with a score of 70.63.

WalletHub had Arkansas as the 21st-best in the country and found Arkansas State University-Mountain Home was the best community college out of the 20 colleges they looked at.
