LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Residents in northwest Arkansas have just one more day to apply for storm damage assistance from FEMA.

According to a release from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), people in Baxter, Benton, Boone, Fulton, Greene, Madison, Marion or Randolph counties impacted by severe storms from May 24-27 may be eligible for assistance for temporary housing, basic home repairs, personal property losses and other uninsured, disaster related expenses.

Arkansans in the designated area who sustained damage are encouraged to apply with FEMA by Aug. 28, even if repair estimates or insurance settlements aren’t yet available.

There are several ways residents can apply for assistance:

    • Go online to DisasterAssistance.gov
    • Download the FEMA app on your smartphone
    • Visit the Disaster Recovery Center at the Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville (1000 SE Eagle Way, Building 15, Room B103) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday
    • Call 1-800-621-3362 from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
