SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Springfield’s Paul Mueller Company, which manufactures stainless steel components for various industries, has announced it’s expansion.

According to a press release from the Missouri Department of Economic Development (MDEC) , the company intends to invest $22 million and create 133 new jobs. The first phase of the expansion will establish a new production facility that will add more than 100,000 square feet of space, including a 60,000-square-foot, climate-controlled production area.

“Paul Mueller Company’s new facility is another example of the exciting growth happening across southwest Missouri,” said Governor Mike Parson in a statement. “Our investments to improve infrastructure and strengthen our workforce continue to produce results that are making a lasting difference for Missourians. Paul Mueller Company, as a world-class manufacturer that began right here in our state, is another quality employer we’re excited to see succeeding in the Springfield area.”

For the expansion, Paul Mueller Company will benefit from the Missouri Works program, which helps companies grow and retain workers. The company is also receiving assistance from Missouri One Start, a division of the MDEC that helps eligible businesses with recruitment and training.

Paul Mueller Company is headquartered in Springfield and has manufacturing and sales operations in Iowa, the Netherlands and Vietnam. Their products include processing equipment for dairy farms, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical facilities.
