Saturday, August 31: Soggy start, sunny finish to Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend is the unofficial end to summer and the kickoff to fall. Conditions this week are certainly going to support that.

A cold front arrived on Friday which will be responsible for breaking a six-day streak of 90-degree highs and temperatures will peak in the upper 70s and low 80s.

Today carries the chance of rain, especially for areas to the south. I am expecting stray showers to occur for the morning hour with another wave of thunderstorms to fire up in the afternoon.

These thunderstorms are, thankfully, not forecasted to carry a severe weather threat. Lighting, flooding, and pea-sized hail are the main concerns. Precipitation totals can be 1-2″ in localized pockets, however, most areas will realistically see zero to a quarter of an inch.

Sunshine returns on Sunday. Temperatures will get warmer, but not too bad. Highs climb to the mid-80s with low humidity. Labor Day is shaping up to be a great day to fire up the grill. Upper 70s and low 80s with sunny, sunny conditions.

Fall-feel temperatures with a fair mix of sun and clouds will stay in place for the foreseeable future.
