    Wrongful death lawsuit filed in crash that led to Evangel professor’s death

    GREENE COUNTY, Mo. — The husband of Renee Griffith Grantham, an Evangel professor who died after being hit by an SUV while riding a bicycle , has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Greene County circuit court against the driver involved in the crash.

    According to online court records, the lawsuit alleges that the driver of the SUV was negligent, causing the crash that led to Grantham’s death.

    On April 15, 2024, Grantham was riding a bicycle south on East Division Street at Marlowe Avenue when she collided with a westbound GMC Yukon, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

    Grantham, an Evangel University graduate, taught as an adjunct professor in theology at the university from January 2019 until her death.
