Olive Garden building 2nd SGF location by new Target

SPRINGFIELD, MO- Another new tenant has been confirmed for a southside shopping center anchored by the city’s second Target store.

Olive Garden confirms it’ll be opening its second city location in 2025.  The company’s current local store, at 3105 S. Glenstone Ave, has been in operation for several decades.

Permit records with the City of Springfield confirm the new Olive Garden will be located at 3370 West Sunshine.  That address is located in the under-construction Sunshine Towne Center near the intersection of W. Sunshine St. and West Bypass.

Brittany Baronn, a spokesperson of Florida-based Olive Garden, tells OzarksFirst, “We’re thrilled to open our second Olive Garden in Springfield and can’t wait to serve guests never-ending amounts of soup, salad, and breadsticks when they dine with us. We’re early in the process, but we expect to open in the summer of next year.”

On Friday, OzarksFirst visited the site and confirmed grading work was underway around the site of the new restaurant.

Construction on the shopping district has been underway for the last several months.  Plans call for several outlying businesses to surround a new 150,000-square-foot Target store. With its announcement, Olive Garden becomes the first of those secondary tenants to be confirmed.
