#14 Evangel defeat Tabor in home opener

NIXA–The Evangel Valor are 2-0 this fall, following their 33-17 home-opener victory against Tabor.

The Valor and Blue Jays played a low-scoring first half that only totaled 22 points, as 14th ranked Evangel led 12-10 at intermission.

Evangel had a 9-3 lead late in the second quarter, until, quarterback Reid Potts got intercepted, and it was returned for a 35-yard touchdown to vault Tabor in front, 10-9. The Valor did manage to kick a field goal before halftime, then outscored the Blue Jays 21-7 in the second half.
