The family of fallen Osage Beach Police Officer Phylicia Carson will have one less worry as they begin to navigate life without her. Tunnel to Towers Foundation has vowed to provide a mortgage-free home to the Carson family.

Carson’s husband, who is also in law enforcement, was overwhelmed by the news.

“I don’t know what to say,” Grant Carson tells Tunnel to Towers after the announcement, “Owning a home was one of our family’s dreams.”

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation pays off the mortgages for families of fallen first responders. In the case of the Carson family, they are on the hunt for a special property that will fit the needs of a family of 7. Officer Carson leaves behind six children.

“Officer Carson answered the call to serve and protect her community. She made the ultimate sacrifice while trying to stop a fleeing suspect, and this tragic loss left six children without a mother. Tunnel to Towers Foundation has vowed to deliver her husband a mortgage-free home in honor of her memory,” promises Frank Siller, Chairman and CEO of Tunnel to Towers.

In 2020, Tunnel to Towers paid off a home of slain Springfield Police Officer Christopher Walsh. Walsh was killed responding to a mass shooting at Kum & Go on East Chestnut. It was one of 11 homes paid off by Tunnel to Towers in 2020.

Early Saturday, August 31, Officer Carson was killed during a high-speed pursuit of a fleeing suspect in Camden County. While following the suspect, Officer Carson’s car skidded off the road and crashed into a tree.
