SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Food trucks are returning to the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds.

The 10th Annual Missouri Food Truck Fest is happening tomorrow, Sept. 14. The one-day event will feature food trucks from right here in the Ozarks, across Missouri and beyond.

“We get about six or seven thousand people over the course of the day. We’ve got 25 different food trucks that are planned to be there,” said Larry Krauck, Special Events Manager at Ozark Empire Fairgrounds. “We’ve got some returning favorites that come every year, and we’ve got some folks that are new to the festival this year, and it’s just going to be a great time.”

In years past the festival has brought in quite a crowd of foodies trying all types of cuisine in one location.

“When we started our truck, there was maybe a handful of trucks that were licensed in Greene County. Now there’s upwards to 100 plus,” said Casey McTavish who will have two food trucks Saturday. “This particular festival has helped the food truck industry grow tremendously.”

McTavish says he will be returning with his Not’cho Ordinary Taco Truck and will have his Bada Bing Wing Truck there for the first time.

“The food truck industry is a tight-knit community. We all work together. We all share ideas,” McTavish said. “We share events, it’s not real cutthroat. We’re all in it together. We’re all just trying to make it.”

The event starts at 11 a.m. and runs to 7 p.m. on the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds. Guests should enter through Gate 10 across the street from Hillcrest High School. It is free to attend and has free parking. Each truck will have its own prices based on its menu.
