Travs spoil Cards comeback, ends Springfield’s season

SPRINGFIELD, Mo—The Springfield Cardinals were playing Arkansas Friday night in a decisive game three of their North Division Playoff Series.

The winner advances to the Texas League Championship Series.

The Travs eliminated Springfield at this point in the playoffs last season.

And it was not a good start for Springfield, Arkansas belted a solo shot in the first, and a two run blast in the second and built a 5-0 lead.

Springfield rallied, a three run Matt Lloyd homer made it 5-4, the Cards tied it at 5.

But Arkansas got a second homer from Victor Labrada and ended Springfield’s season 6-5.
