Fall leaves, foggy mornings and crisp air are all things to love about fall in the Ozarks. Fall is three months of some of the Ozarks’ biggest weather swings. What does a normal fall situation look like?

For the first day of fall this year, the average high temperature is 79°. By the end of the season, average high temperatures will be at 45°. The average high temperature falling -34° is the biggest seasonal swing.

The average overnight low will fall from 56° to 26°. Our average overnight low drops to the freezing mark around November 25th.

Rainfall has been elusive so far for the month of September. But typically, Springfield picks up nearly 10″ of rain between the end of September and the end of December.

October and November average about the same in rainfall each month, picking up around 3.5″.

Perhaps the saddest fact of all is that Springfield will lose -2:08 of daylight from September 22 to December 21st. The first sunset of fall 2024 was at 7:09 p.m., the last sunset of fall will be at 4:59 p.m.
