Emmitt Smith helps Boys & Girls Club

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The annual Steak & Steak dinner is one of the biggest fundraisers for the Boys and Girls club of Springfield.

Tonight, KOLR 10’s Dan Lucy emcee’d the event and caught up with special guest speaker Emmitt Smith afterward.

Dan Lucy/KOLR 10:Emmitt Smith was the guest speaker at the 25th annual Boys and Girls Clubs Steak & Steak dinner. Thanks for being here, what was your message to the kids.

Emmitt Smith:”It’s up to adults to help out the kids in the community…”

Lucy:”Won three Super Bowls and still own the record for most rushing yards in the NFL. Which do you cherish the most?”

Smith:”The Super Bowls of course, winning in front of a whole world audience. Then the second one I was named MVP…”

Lucy:”You’re a life-long Cowboys fan, thoughts on this season?”

Smith:”It’s been a tough start, can’t run the ball. But its a long season, anything’s possible.”
