SPRINGFIELD, Mo–Week five of the high school football season got an early start Thursday night.

Kickapoo and Glendale meeting in their annual southside rivalry.

It’s also homecoming for the Chiefs.

There’s only one win between these two teams this season.

And Glendale’s defense was strong early in this one, Deric Washington and Saul Spurgeon meet at the running back for a loss, that would stall Kickapoo’s drive.

The Falcons get the ball, and Jayln Lockett takes it up the middle and motors 15 yards for a first and ten.

But later on the drive Lockett picks up another chunk of yardage, but the ball is popped out and fumbled, Kickapoo’s Trevor Chandler pounces on it and recovers.

Kickapoo would capitalize on the turnover, the inside pitch to Dane Prost, he takes it in nine yards for a touchdown and it’s 7-0 Chiefs.

Glendale trying to get the offense going again, the reverse to Joelle Rover, he turns the corner and picks up 25 yards, but the Falcons could not turn that into any points.

    And Kickapoo beats Glendale 27-14.
