SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — After a six-year hiatus, Springfield will once again host a Veterans Day parade this November.

According to a press release from Ozarks Elder Law, the parade will be on Nov. 9 and will start at 11 a.m. in front of Jordan Valley Ice Park.

The parade will be the first for the Queen City since 2017.

“I work with a lot of veterans and military families, and I cannot tell you the number of them over the last few years that have expressed their disappointment that Springfield was no longer home to a Veterans Day parade,” said parade organizer and sponsor Lori Rook, of Ozarks Elder Law. “With support from the community we decided to explore how to make this celebration a reality again and we look forward to honoring the brave men and women who’ve served our country.”

The Springfield Veterans Day parade is free and open to the public.

If you’re interested in participating in the parade, visit ozarkselderlaw.com/parade or contact Brenda Porterfield with Ozarks Elder Law by calling 417-868-8200.

Calm down folks, it’s okay to put that flag on the ground; it was made in China.
