UPDATE 10/1/24: A volunteer firefighter for Western Taney County suffered minor injuries battling flames at the Taney County Recycling Center and Transfer Station.

Firefighters were dispatched at 7:21 Monday night for reports of a brush fire near Camping World. Once crews realized the fire was actually a large blaze originating from the transfer station, they called in help.

According to Western Taney County Battalion Chief Danny Rylott, 30 volunteer firefighters worked to extinguish the flames through 11 p.m. Branson police and the Taney County Ambulance District were also on scene to assist.

Fire officials reviewed security footage but didn’t find any suspicious activity. Investigators determined the fire started in a building containing three trucks and trailers loaded full of trash that were headed for the dump in the morning.

That building, tractors, and trailers are complete losses. Rylott says other areas of the Recycling Center and Transfer Station were also damaged.

    No other injuries were reported.

They really need to specify 76/465, not 76 Country Drive.
