MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. — The Humane America Animal Foundation — a nonprofit organization that provides for needy and impactful animal shelters — has awarded a $1000 grant to the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas (NCA).

According to a Facebook post from the Humane Society of NCA, the grant will go towards purchasing pet food for their Low-income Community Pet Food Program to help out animals in Baxter County and nearby areas.

“This grant is very important to the pets in the community,” said Carolyn Carter, Shelter Manager at the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas. “Providing pet food to the community allows these pets to stay in their loving homes and helps to keep the human/animal bond in place. The support of Humane America Animal Foundation allows the Humane Society to continue their lifesaving work of making a difference in the lives of the animals in our community.”
