Motorcyclist killed in crash south of Granby

NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. — A motorcyclist was killed Monday afternoon in a crash near Granby.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 4 p.m. on Oct. 14 on Highway 86, two miles south of Granby.

James R. Stuart, 71, of Stark City, Missouri, was killed in the crash.

MSHP states the crash happened when an eastbound Chevy Equinox attempted to make a left turn in front of Stuart’s westbound motorcycle. The Equinox hit Stuart, who died at the scene.

This is MSHP Troop D’s 88th fatality for 2024.
