LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — North Las Vegas police are asking for the public’s help to identify two people they say were caught on camera leaving a fatally shot teen in a hospital lobby.

On Friday, Oct. 11 at around 12:30 a.m., officers with the North Las Vegas Police Department were called to the area of Webb Avenue and Davis Place after reports of gunshots.

Shortly after the shooting, two masked people carried a teenage victim, later identified as Demetrius Powell Jr., 14, to a nearby hospital, left him on the lobby floor, and ran away from the area.

Staff at the hospital pronounced Powell dead. Details about the shooting that lead to his death were unknown at the time of publication.

Through the investigation, police found surveillance footage which shows the two people. The first person was described as a tall Black man with dreadlocks and the second person was described as an “extremely short” Hispanic man.
