SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Springfield police say a woman was injured after she was shot during a domestic dispute Sunday morning.

According to SPD, officers were called to the 1300 block of South Prince Lane at approximately 7:30 a.m. and found a female with a gunshot wound at the residence.

Officers say the gunshot wound came from a domestic disturbance at 1503 S. Pickwick Ave., where a male shot the female victim during a dispute. The victim then drove to the residence on Prince Lane, where officers were eventually called.

The woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. SPD says a suspect is known but they are not in custody as of now. They also say both parties knew each other and there is no threat to the public.

The incident is still under investigation.
