PINGREE — A group of east Idaho bands and solo musicians are inviting the public to come out for “Superfriends,” a weekend festival of music, friendship, and raising money for good causes. The free event happens July 19-21 at 436 South 1200 West in Pingree (about 13 miles southwest of Blackfoot). Fire in Southern Asotin Country Quickly Grows to 350 Acres
ASOTIN COUNTY - A fire burning in southern Asotin County, in the area of Cougar Creek Road, on the north side of the Grande Ronde River has reached 350 acres in size. The Chelan County Sheriff's Office has issued a Level 1 Evacuation Advisory for the Stehekin area due to the ongoing Pioneer Fire, which is burning in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest near Lake Chelan. The advisory affects the region up Lake from Hazard Creek to the High Bridge Ranger Station. Spanning 18,731 acres and located 31 miles northwest of Chelan, the fire is currently 14% contained.
