Southeast Wyoming Could See Severe Storms Today, Friday
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle could see severe thundershowers this afternoon and especially on Friday. The agency posted the following on its website: Showers and thunderstorms returning to the forecast for southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle Thursday and especially Friday. For Thursday, best chances for storms look to be along and just east of the Laramie Range. Overall, the better chances for severe storms Thursday, look to be south of our forecast area. Better chances for more widespread showers and storms Friday afternoon/evening. A Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorms covers the entire Nebraska Panhandle into the southeast Wyoming plains, with a Slight Risk for extreme eastern Cheyenne County in the Panhandle. Some concerns with these risk areas shifting west to cover more of our area. Stay tuned to later updates in the next 24-36 hours on Friday as Friday could be very active.

Severe Storms, Hail, Strong Winds Possible in Southeast Wyoming
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning about the possibility of severe storms in southeast Wyoming today (June 7) and tomorrow. ''Heads up on a weather change across southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle. Showers and thunderstorms make a return to the area this afternoon/evening. Initially starting out west near Rawlins, storms are expected to develop after noon time today, spreading east of the Laramie Range after 3 PM. These storms expected to be high based and could create severe downburst winds of 60+ mph. Showers and storms become more widespread Saturday afternoon/evening and may be stronger with larger hail, heavy rain and strong downburst winds possible. If outdoors, keep an eye on the sky and take shelter when a storm approaches your location. Have a way to receive any severe warnings when they are issued.''
Laramie Rangers Host The Dooley Oil Classic This Weekend
The 15th Dooley Oil Classic baseball tournament hosted by the Laramie Rangers is Friday through Sunday at Cowboy Field. Laramie welcomes three other teams from Wyoming and Colorado for weekend action. The schedule is a round-robin event, where each team will get four games. It is the only home tournament for the AA squad in the 2024 season.
Flood Warning Issued For Little Laramie River In Albany County
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning near Centennial in Albany County. A Flood Warning is in effect along the Little Laramie River east of Centennial as flooding has been reported in low-lying areas near the river with high flows due to ongoing snowmelt in the mountains. High water is expected to persist through the weekend with warm temperatures continuing Friday and remain above average through the weekend. Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads.
