New Park City School District sports complex could mean tax increase
The Park City Board of Education saw details for a new athletic master plan at its meeting Tuesday. According to estimates provided by a consultant, the first phase would cost $7 million and would involve building two new synthetic turf fields for baseball and softball behind Treasure Mountain Junior High. The two teams were forced to practice and play off campus most of last season because of snow.
Bystander rescues boaters from sinking boat on Jordanelle Reservoir
Wasatch County Search and Rescue officials said in a social media post that they were notified of a sinking boat shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday, June 17. An afternoon storm with high winds rolled into the area bringing with it large waves which caused the boat to begin taking on water.
Driver injured after dump truck crashes into Tollgate Canyon ravine
Summit County Sheriff’s deputies said the truck carrying rocks failed to navigate a curve on Tollgate Canyon Rd. when it struck a rock and launched into the air. The dump truck remained airborne as it crossed a small creek and came to rest 200 feet down the ravine against the opposite hillside.

Town of Hideout to host summer solstice concert, fundraiser
The town, located on the east side of the Jordanelle Reservoir, has rapidly grown and now needs more emergency services. The concert Friday, June 21 begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Kids 10 and under are free. $5 from each ticket will go to fund the fire station.
Outlets at Park City get new name, fresh look
Phase one of the project will focus on the lower level of the shopping center built in 1989. Upgrades will include a new color scheme, siding and redesigned signage. Construction begins on Silver Summit roundabout
