College athletes can now compete through the spring without fretting over transfer restrictions. A lawsuit brought relief, turning a temporary order into a lasting one until after the 2023–24 seasons.

The NCAA and seven states, led by Ohio, settled, granting athletes like RaeQuan Battle the freedom to pursue their sports passions. West Virginia's Attorney General hailed it as a victory for sidelined athletes against stringent transfer rules.

The lawsuit, led by Ohio with support from other states, challenges NCAA waivers denying players like Aziz Bandaogo and RaeQuan Battle opportunities. The injunction also bars the NCAA from enforcing the Restitution Rule, preserving athletes' wins and stats. State attorneys emphasize the importance of fairness in collegiate sports, fighting for athletes' rights and their families' needs.
