During this festive season, Santa and Mrs. Claus made a heartwarming return to the University of Michigan Health C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, bringing joy to the little patients. At the Brandon Newborn Intensive Care Unit, they shared precious moments, posing for pictures and delivering gifts to parents and babies celebrating their first holiday season together.

The hospital’s youngest patients have been receiving love and surprises during this special time. Teenager Harper Mathis from Ann Arbour, who battled a rare brain cancer in 2020, collaborated with the Ann Arbour Police Department, orchestrating a massive toy drive that brought thousands of toys to the hospital, ensuring every child could experience the joy of the season.

Adding to the holiday spirit, a DTE crew arrived at the Ronald McDonald House adjacent to the hospital on December 11, brightening the night with a truck adorned with sparkling lights. McDonald’s famous purple character, Grimace, and DTE’s Louie the Lightning Bug joined the crew for a heartwarming evening filled with hot cocoa, s’mores, and spreading cheer among those staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

These heartwarming gestures have not only brought smiles but have also created unforgettable moments of happiness for the young patients and their families, making their holiday season brighter during their time at the hospital and the Ronald McDonald House.
