Bucks County Police Officers Honored for Saving Woman's Life

In Solebury Township, Bucks County, a heart-stopping incident on New Year's Day culminated in a tale of heroism as two local police officers intervened to save a woman from a potentially tragic fate at the Lumberville-Raven Rock Pedestrian Bridge. Officer Brendan Murphy swiftly responded to a distress call around 4:30 a.m. that reported a woman perilously close to plunging into the icy, swift currents of the Delaware River. The entire gripping episode unfolded, captured by the officers' body cameras.

Upon arrival, Murphy noticed the woman positioned precariously at the bridge's rail, poised over the water's edge, prompting him to urgently summon his partner, Officer Patrick Dorsey, stationed elsewhere in the township. Dorsey, recognizing the gravity of Murphy's request, swiftly made his way to the scene.

With quick thinking and coordinated efforts, Murphy managed to maintain a tenuous grip on the distressed woman until Dorsey arrived, engaging her in conversation while attempting to provide reassurance amidst the turmoil.
