In Philadelphia, a disturbing hit-and-run incident has shaken the community, prompting a fervent search for the suspect responsible. The Philadelphia Police Department unveiled new surveillance footage in their pursuit of the culprit involved in a crash that critically injured a hospital worker.

The incident unfolded at N. Broad Street and Susquehanna Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on a Friday, where the victim, identified as Hayley Worrell by her mother Coleen Worrell, was struck by a vehicle. The impact propelled Hayley through the air, resulting in a fractured skull, hip, and other grievous injuries. Shockingly, the driver callously fled the scene without rendering aid or stopping to assist the injured victim.

The recently released surveillance video captured a pivotal moment after the crash, showing a man, the suspected driver, pulling over and inspecting his vehicle for damage. However, the exact location where the car came to a stop has not been disclosed by the authorities.

The Philadelphia Police Department provided a description of the suspect, describing him as a 30- to 50-year-old man with a distinctive bald spot on the top of his head. The man was seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt adorned with writing on both the front and back. While the authorities have identified the individual in question, further details regarding his identity have not been divulged as of Wednesday night.

The gravity of the situation is compounded by Hayley's critical condition, as Coleen Worrell revealed that her daughter sustained a severe brain injury and remains in an extremely critical state at Temple University Hospital. Hayley, a dedicated employee at Cooper University Hospital, resides along Broad Street, not far from the location where the hit-and-run transpired.

The community remains on edge as law enforcement continues their pursuit of justice for Hayley Worrell, urging anyone with pertinent information about the incident or the whereabouts of the suspect to come forward. The search for the hit-and-run perpetrator persists, with authorities working tirelessly to ensure that the responsible individual is apprehended and held accountable for their reckless actions.
