Upstate New York Tour Bus Crash Claims One Life, Leaves 22 Injured

A tragic tour bus accident occurred on Interstate 87 in upstate New York, resulting in one fatality and around 22 individuals sustaining injuries. The bus, operated by FlixBus and traveling from Montreal to New York City, overturned between Lake George and Warrensburg.

Emergency responders, including air medical services, attended to the injured passengers. According to FlixBus, one passenger sustained severe injuries, while the driver and ten other passengers had non-life-threatening injuries.

Most of the passengers were Canadians, and the bus was en route from Montreal to midtown Manhattan when the rollover happened. Authorities, including the New York State Police, are investigating the cause of the accident.

FlixBus expressed shock and condolences for the victim's family and affected passengers, emphasizing passenger and driver safety as their top priority. Governor Kathy Hochul extended prayers for those involved and appreciated the efforts of the first responders. The incident caused the closure of I-87 southbound between exits 23 and 22 due to the severity of the crash.
