Deceased body found in Montrose County

MESA COUNTY, Colo. ( KREX ) – A search conducted Wednesday by members of the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office and the Sheriff’s Posse resulted in the discovery a deceased body.

The search was conducted in the 71000 block of Buckhorn Road in response to a recently reported missing person. The identification of the body will be released by the Montrose County Coroner’s Office after it notifies the next of kin.

MCSO, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the 7th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and the Montrose County Coroner’s Office are currently investigating the matter. The sheriff’s office said in a press release there is no ongoing threat to the community.
