GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. ( KREX ) — Attention Colorado high school softball teams: you do not want to see the Fruita Monument Wildcats right now.

Once 5-5, Fruita appeared to be missing last year’s impact seniors Ava Stephens, Reina Roberts and Isabel Blue, among others, who helped lift Fruita to an upset win over #1 seed Columbine in the playoffs.

But, just like last season, Fruita enters the postseason fire.

Following tonight’s huge 4-1 win over league rival Central — thanks to some great pitching from Fruita’s ace Lacie Rodabaugh — the Wildcats have now won 13 straight since that 5-5 start.

And with tonight’s win, the Wildcats have clinched their third straight Southwestern League title. Fruita will now await their opponent for the regional tournament as Central still has a double-header to go on Saturday in Durango.

Here’s a look at the current Southwestern League standings as the regular season comes to a close:

    1. Fruita Monument 9-1 (18-5) CLINCHED
    2. Central 6-2 (14-7)
    3. Palisade 6-4 (15-8)
    4. Grand Junction 4-5 (13-9)
    5. Durango 1-7 (9-12)
    6. Montrose 1-8 (7-15)
