Montrose County Coroner identifies deceased body

MESA COUNTY, Colo. ( KREX ) — On Monday, the Montrose County Coroner’s Office released the identity of the deceased person found on Wednesday during a property search for a reported missing person.

The person, found in the 71000 block of Buckhorn Road, was identified as 30-year-old Jose Cruz Moreno Rocha, a resident of Montrose. Moreno Rocha was last seen at 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 17 in the 71700 block of Buckhorn Road, according to an earlier release from the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office.

The case remains under investigation by the 7th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Montrose County Sheriff’s Office and the Montrose County Coroner’s Office of Medical Investigation.

The cause and manner of Moreno Rocha’s death are pending autopsy results.
