Woman dies in 1-car crash

MESA COUNTY, Colo. ( KREX ) – The Colorado State Patrol confirmed Tuesday a deadly crash on Colorado Highway 141 around 2:30 p.m., Monday, in Mesa County.

CSP told WesternSlopeNow one woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash about 7 miles from U.S. Highway 50, southwest of Whitewater. She was the only driver involved.

Law enforcement say excessive speed is being looked at as a cause. Both directions on the highway were blocked for around 45 minutes following the incident.

CSP Vehicular Crimes Unit is investigating the crash.
