GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. ( KREX ) — Following a huge 2-1 road win over MSU Denver Sunday, Colorado Mesa women’s soccer has won five games in a row.

    All against RMAC foes.

“I would say the team’s feeling pretty good right now. I know I am,” said head coach Jody Lingafeldt. “I feel like we’re very on the same page coming together… We’re still foot on the gas, we still have a lot to put together leading up to Fort Lewis but I think we’re in a really good spot.”

Here’s a look at where CMU currently sits in the RMAC standings:

    1. #1 Colorado School of Mines 5-0-1 (11-0-1)
    2. #22 Colorado Mesa 5-0 (7-1-2)
    3. MSU Denver 5-1 (6-2-4)
    4. Reigs 3-2-1 (4-6-2)
    5. Fort Lewis 3-2 (6-3-1)

In the win streak, the Mavs have stepped up huge on defense allowing just one goal in 5 games

“I think the chemistry from the defensive line and the holding midfielders is just so so good right now,” said sophomore midfielder Kylie Hoffman. “I think that everyone’s just working really well together and everyone wants to play for each other and everyone is willing to just put our opponents in the ground.”

Colorado Mesa’s defense will look to keep stifling opponents when Fort Lewis is in town for a 7 p.m. kickoff Friday at Unity Field.
