MESA COUNTY, Colo. ( KREX ) – After a summer full of wildfires, one more just occurred before the start of the cooler weather.

Around 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, a wildfire was reported near Ashbury Creek north of Interstate 70 close to Cameo, the Upper Colorado River Interagency Fire Management Unit reported. The blaze is currently around 150 acres.

Officials believe the fire started from lightning, adding high winds are making the blaze difficult to contain.

Palisade Fire Department De Beque Fire Department and Upper Colorado River Interagency Fire Management have been on the scene. Air attack and two large air tankers have helped battle the wildfire.

A 20-person crew is also on the scene to provide additional support, according to the Bureau of Land Management.
