Kim Richards Being Put on Psychiatric Hold

Addiction is an awful disease affecting many families. As most know, Kim Richards, previous child star, suffered for years as she tried to get better, with family members constantly by her side. Sadly, the alum of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was put under psychiatric hold earlier in September. Her family is now practicing tough love and reportedly has completely shut her out. Here is what’s known about the situation…

According to TMZ, in early September, Kim Richards was acting incoherently at a Los Angeles Hilton Hotel when with Kyle Richards, her sister. The authorities were called out and requested that Kim leave; however, she refused. That is when Kim was put under a 5150 psych hold and driven to the hospital in an ambulance.

Then on the evening of September 25, Kyle Richards attempted to remove Kim from a house in LA that Kyle Richards owns. Previously, Kyle had allowed Kim to reside in the home, yet Kim moved out a while back.

Once Kim returned, Kyle told the police that she did not want her sister inside the home. Hoping that Kim would hit rock bottom and sober up again, her family cut off all contact. Supposedly, they are hoping Kim will be motivated to get some help herself once she has no place else to turn.

Unfortunately, the police said to Kyle that they did not have the ability to take Kim away from the home, because it was a civil matter. Unfortunately Kyle will need to file for an eviction as Kim remains inside the house.

The police told TMZ that at the time they entered the residence, Kyle explained to them that Kim’s addiction is at a point in which they are worried for her life.

Viewers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills initially heard of Kim’s issues with alcohol in the finale of Season 1. Kim and Kyle got into a big fight inside the back of a limousine. Kyle allowed the secret to slip, screaming, ‘We do not talk about the truth that you are an alcoholic!’ That came after Kim made accusations about Kyle and Mauricio (Kyle’s then husband) stealing her house.
