    Oregon Forest Committee Gathers for Critical Discussion: Public Meeting Details Inside

    SALEM, Ore. — The Forest Trust Land Advisory Committee is scheduled to convene on May 24 at 10 a.m. at the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) headquarters in Salem. The meeting will also offer a virtual option for participants.

    The public session is slated to take place in the Tillamook Room, Building C, located at 2600 State St., Salem, OR 97310. Those opting for virtual attendance can access the meeting through Zoom video conference, with details provided on the agenda.

    Agenda items for the committee include discussions on Forest Management Plan (FMP) performance measures and the preparation of testimony for the June Board of Forestry meeting.

    Public comment will be accommodated at the beginning of the session. Written submissions can be emailed to ftlac.comment@odf.oregon.gov. Comments sent at least 48 hours before the meeting will be reviewed by the committee. Those received afterward will be noted for the record and posted online but will not be considered during the meeting.

    The Forest Trust Land Advisory Committee comprises seven county commissioners representing 15 Oregon counties where state forestlands are situated. This committee, established by statute, provides guidance to the Board of Forestry on matters pertaining to forestland under ODF management.
