Linn County, OREGON -- Ever wondered what sets the Police Department apart from the Sheriff’s Office? Curious about what happens when you dial 911 or what life is like inside a jail? The Linn County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applicants for its upcoming Fall Citizens Academy, offering a unique and in-depth look at the dynamic operations of the department.

Running from September 18th through November 13th, this 9-week program invites Linn County citizens to meet the dedicated team members and explore various divisions such as patrol, detectives, corrections, and more. The Academy includes both classroom instruction and hands-on training, with one Sunday "field trip" to the firearms range and Animal Control.

To learn more and apply, visit Linn County Sheriff's Office. For any questions, contact Community Services Specialist Michael Mattingly at mmattingly@linnsheriff.org.
