Oak Harbor, WA – A fatal traffic collision occurred on the afternoon of October 13, 2024, at the intersection of Monkey Hill Road and Azalea Place. According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash involved three vehicles and resulted in the death of one individual.

The incident began when vehicle one, driven by Eleazar I. Ngiralmau, 28, traveling southbound on Monkey Hill Road, attempted to turn left onto Azalea Place. During the turn, vehicle two, which was heading northbound, collided with vehicle one. The impact caused vehicle two to veer into the southbound lane, where it struck vehicle three, a gray Mazda 6 sedan.

Vehicle two, identified as a 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, was driven by a 58-year-old man from Oak Harbor. The motorcyclist was transported to WhidbeyHealth Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities are withholding his name pending notification of his next of kin. The motorcyclist was wearing a non-compliant helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of vehicle one, Ngiralmau, was not injured and pulled over to the right shoulder of Azalea Road. Bonnie L. Brady, 38, the driver of vehicle three, and her 7-month-old passenger, Isaac Green, were both unharmed. Isaac was properly restrained in a rear-facing car seat.

The cause of the collision has been identified as failure to yield the right of way by the driver of vehicle one. No drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.

The crash blocked traffic on Monkey Hill Road for several hours as authorities worked to clear the scene and investigate the circumstances of the accident.
