Billings, MT – Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks game wardens are asking for the public's help in gathering information about two mule deer bucks that were shot and left to waste on private property five miles south of Lockwood, along Dry Creek.

The deer were discovered by the property owner and were found to have died from gunshot wounds. Wardens believe the bucks were shot and abandoned between October 4 and October 5, well before the start of the general rifle hunting season for deer, which begins on October 26. Under Montana law, wasting any part of a game animal suitable for food is prohibited.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to report it by visiting tipmont.mt.gov or calling the local game warden at 406-860-7804. Individuals providing information may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
