Spartanburg, S.C. – Nine members of a Spartanburg-area drug trafficking ring have been sentenced to a combined total of over 100 years in federal prison for their involvement in distributing large quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine, as well as engaging in money laundering activities. The announcement was made by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of South Carolina.

Key figures in the operation, including Terrance Bobo, Michael Jacobs, and Maurice Canty, received the longest sentences. Bobo, who acted as the primary supplier, and Jacobs, who operated a stash house and distribution center, played pivotal roles in the illegal drug trade. The group utilized various businesses, such as a car garage and real estate ventures, to conceal and further their criminal activities.

“This investigation has resulted in the dismantling of a dangerous drug network, making Spartanburg a safer place for its residents,” said U.S. Attorney Adair Ford Boroughs. HSI Special Agent Cardell T. Morant added that law enforcement agencies will continue their efforts to take down drug operations like this one.

The extensive investigation led to the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics and firearms, including 13 kilograms of fentanyl, along with cash, vehicles, and real estate linked to the criminal enterprise.

The operation is part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) initiative, which targets high-level drug trafficking and money laundering organizations.
