Snohomish County, WA – Snohomish County, WA – A fatal three-vehicle collision occurred on State Route 530 near Trafton Store on the evening of October 18, 2024, leaving one person dead and three others injured.

At approximately 7:14 p.m., a 2013 Ford F150 traveling eastbound at a high speed struck the rear of a 1991 Chevrolet S10, pushing it off the road and into a ditch. The Ford F150 then rolled onto its driver’s side and into the westbound lane, where it was struck head-on by a 2012 Ford Escape. Both the Ford F150 and the Ford Escape came to rest, blocking the westbound lane of SR530.

The driver of the Ford F150 was pronounced dead at the scene, and their identity is pending notification of next of kin. Ryder P. Weed, 20, the driver of the Chevrolet S10, and his passenger, Mailynn C. Pearston, 20, both from Arlington, were injured and transported to Cascade Valley Medical Center. The driver of the Ford Escape, Marc A. Sandoval, 27, also from Arlington, was injured and transported to the same hospital. All individuals involved were wearing seatbelts.

The cause of the collision was determined to be speed too fast for conditions, and all three vehicles were totaled.

The Washington State Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
