While most of the immediate Dallas-Fort Worth area was spared from severe weather Thursday, some parts of the state were hit with large hail.

In Delta County, northeast of DFW, there were some injuries and structural damage in communities like Ben Franklin, Lake Creek, and Enloe. Meanwhile, southwest of Fort Worth in Hood County there is damage from hail the size of tennis balls and baseballs.

In Hays County, schools opened on a two-hour delay Friday morning to allow the school district to assess damage to campuses. According to Austin NBC affiliate KXAN, Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra's San Marcos home sustained hail damage on Thursday.
