HALTOM CITY (1080 KRLD)- A Tarrant County Sheriff's deputy has been released from the hospital after he was shot three times while serving a warrant Wednesday afternoon.

The Tarrant County Sheriff's office says around noon a task force was trying to arrest a 40-year-old man on the northeast side of Fort Worth when shots rang out. Haltom City PD engaged in a standoff with the armed suspect for more than hour and asked residents to avoid the area and shelter in place.

Tarrant County Judge, Tim O'Hare confirmed via X that the deputy was shot and but had non-life-threatening injuries. He asked for prayers for his swift recovery.

Around 4:30 p.m. Judge Tim O'Hare identified the deputy as Todd Tipton and said he has been released from the hospital and expected to make a full recovery.

According to O'Hare, the shooter, who was being served with multiple warrants, including sexual assault of a child and holding a child against their will, was killed by law enforcement during the standoff.
